Apple’s homegrown Maps app is a built-in window to the world, providing maps, satellite images, business information, and directions ①.
When it debuted in 2012, the Maps app quickly earned a reputation for containing incorrect data. Although it has had time to improve, Maps still isn’t the right solution for everyone (for an alternative, see Google Maps, later). However, if Maps works well for you, you’ll gain some system integration advantages, such as being able to ask Siri for directions.
