Friday Report: Febliary 3, 2023

It’s that time of the year again. You know, that season when I have to explain to people that yes, the name of the month really is Febliary and no, that’s not a typo. Feb-lee-airy. See, it just rolls off the tongue, in exactly the same way that Feb-roo-airy does not. Since we’re all going to mispronounce it anyway, because it’s a ridiculous word that breaks English pronunciation conventions, why not mispronounce it in a deliberately fun way, and spell it to match?

This week we published the long-awaited update to Rosemary Orchard’s Take Control of Shortcuts to cover iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and Ventura. Yay! I also taught an iCloud class for the Naples MUG and did a Digital Legacy presentation for another user group. I continue to work on my various updates, though I made little progress this week due to a series of mostly kid-related interruptions. Still, I’m optimistic about the coming month—I expect to get quite a few things crossed off my almost-infinitely-long Take Control to-do list.

Apart from that, we’re just trying to stay warm, what with the wind chill here dropping below –40°. The groundhog says six more weeks of winter, which is absurdly optimistic. Last year we still had snow in May!

That’s all for this week.
